
Julie Ellen "Tawny," Kitaen was an American model and actress. She lived between May 7th and August 5 1961. She began her career as a TV actress, acting in the television series Malibu (1983) and California Girls (1985). She also starred in the comedy The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak and Bachelor Party (both 1984) and the horror film Witchboard (1986). Kitaen was famous for her performances in the music videos of heavy metal such as Ratt's "Back for More", Whitesnake "Still of the Night", and "Is This love" (all 1987). Kitaen also appeared on reality television shows, including Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) and The Surreal Life (2006) that detailed Kitaen's struggles with addiction to drugs. Kitaen was born Julie Kitaen in San Diego, California in 1961, the youngest of three children born to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) an housewife and one-time beauty pageant participant, and Terry Kitaen, an employee of a neon sign company. Kitaen's mother, who was from Irish as well as Scottish descent, was married to Terry Kitaen (an employee of a company that made neon signs). Her father was Russian-Jewish. Kitaen was raised Jewish. Kitaen first began using the title "Tawny", at 12 years old, on her own initiative. She suffered from dyslexia in her early years and was kicked out of Mission Bay High School. [7] When she was 14she had front row access to a Peter Frampton concert at Balboa Stadium.[8She saw Penny Frampton getting special treatment and would like to be just like her. [9]
